ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Carlos Enrique Rodríguez Mata was born in Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, when it was still a peaceful and quiet city, on October 30, 1973. He grew up playing with his cousins and neighbors on the block during weekends, while the adults played cards on the porch of his grandparents' house, in an enriching family environment.

He lived there until he was 17, when he was sent, with great effort from his mother, to continue his university studies in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León. It was there that the author studied Mechanical Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (FIME) of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL).

In the final year of his degree, he met his current wife, who studied with him in the same faculty, staying in this city for almost 10 years. Later, in 1998, he began working at the Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) company in Monterrey, and then moved in 2000 to Mexico City, being part of the same company.

After one year of work, he married his wife, having two daughters. He lived in this metropolis for 20 years, until in 2017 the author suffered an accident, which left him with a visual impairment, so the following year he was retired early, at the age of 45.

Three years later, in 2020, he decided to move to the city of Mérida, Yucatán, where he managed to complete his novel in 2022, having started it on August 13, 2013.

The result of these 9 years of work is the present story of Máksamma, a warrior who fought by his side between the ages of 12 and 19, until leading him to the balance he sought amidst many battles and learnings. It is a narrative that will undoubtedly leave an immense mark on everyone who reads it…
